Scott A. Harford is an accomplished personal injury plaintiffs’ attorney licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey. He has represented hundreds of individual clients located across the country harmed by pharmaceutical drugs, defective consumer products, medical devices, and toxic chemicals.
Harford, P.C., was started in December 2014 as a law firm dedicated to helping individuals injured by defective drugs, consumer products, and toxic chemicals. The firm’s founding attorney, Scott A. Harford, is an accomplished personal injury plaintiffs’ attorney licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey. He has represented hundreds of individual clients located across the country harmed by pharmaceutical drugs, defective consumer products, medical devices, and toxic chemicals. He, along with his staff at Harford, P.C., are committed to the needs of innocent people injured due to the negligence or recklessness of others.
Scott began his career in 2000 and initially worked as defense attorney representing hedge funds, insurance companies, and Fortune 500 companies. His experience included defending large-scale companies within a wide array of litigations, including securities, environmental contamination, asbestos, and general personal injury and automobile accident claims.
Starting in 2006, however, Scott realized his practice would best serve individuals injured by harmful consumer and pharmaceutical products. He has since concentrated on representing people with catastrophic injuries resulting from over-the-counter and pharmaceutical drugs, toxic chemicals, defective medical devices, and dangerous consumer products.
Beyond representing his clients, Scott’s work has also been instrumental in the voluntary recall of certain drugs and consumer goods deemed to be unreasonably dangerous to the public. He has worked in conjunction with the Consumer Product Safety Commission in achieving these results.
Scott was recognized as a New York Super Lawyers “Rising Star” under 40 in 2012 and 2013. He has since been selected as a New York Super Lawyer in 2014, 2015, and 2016 within the field of Plaintiff Personal Injury. His work on behalf of individual clients was also recognized with his membership into the exclusive “Million Dollar Advocates Forum.”
Prior to the practice of law, Scott grew up in Morris County, New Jersey where he attended Mountain Lakes High School. He went on to receive his undergraduate degree cum laude from Boston College in 1997, and graduated law school in 2000 from Duquesne University of Law, where he was an Editor for the Duquesne Law Review and a member of the Public Interest Law Association.
Prior to starting Harford, P.C., in December 2014, Scott was an invaluable asset and at the New York City law firms of Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP (2000-2003), Flemming Zulack Williamson Zauderer LLP (2003-2006), and Lynch Daskal Emery LLP (2006-2014). The opportunity to start his own practice was made possible by the incredible degree of professional development he obtained at those firms.
Scott is currently admitted to New York and New Jersey state courts, the U.S. District Court for New Jersey, and the U.S. District Courts for Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of New York. He is also a member of the following legal associations:
- American Association for Justice

- New York State Bar Association
- New York State Trial Lawyers Association

Scott currently resides in the Upper West Side neighborhood of Manhattan with his amazing and supportive wife, Gabriela.
